Message

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
Greeting of peace!

In the midst of stricken Covid 19 pandemic, where many countries all over the world are forced to lock down, activities are limited including the church’s services of liturgy and sacraments. But as St. Paul wrote in 2 Tim 2:9 “for which I am suffering even to the point of being chained like a criminal. But God’s word is not chained.” So, it is with us, Covid 19 can lockdown our church but God’s love can never be locked down. In the contrary, God’s love manifests in a concrete and tangible way through various initiatives of the church to reach out to the most vulnerable brothers and sister who are in need regardless of religious belief.

As we listen and response to the cry of our brothers and sisters due to Covid 19 pandemic, there is another cry that getting louder and louder that is the cry of creation waiting for the healing not less than afflicted humanity.

Let us give thanks to the Lord for the marvelous gift of the modern means of communication that enable us to connect, inform and more over to transmit God’s love in truth as we celebrate the 55th World Day of Communication. May our faith, hope and love in God shine through the darkness of Covid 19 Pandemic and environmental crisis. United with you all in prayer as we journey together in the first phase of diocesan Synod.

With Sincere affection
Bp. Francis Xavier Vira Arpondratana
CBCT Secretary General
